Councilman Hendrickson has lived in Salt Lake County for over 55 years. After graduating in 1957 from West High School in Salt Lake City Marv attended Salt Lake Vocational School (now Salt Lake Community College). He became a licensed General Contractor and Realtor and established Treasure Valley Real Estate and Construction, a business he still operates today.
Through his professional career Mr. Hendrickson has served in various voluntary positions on boards and commissions in Salt Lake County and the State of Utah. He served as President of the Homebuilders Association of Greater Salt Lake and The Utah Home Builders Association, Utah Real Estate Commission, Utah Board of Contractors, the Salt Lake County Board of Appeals, the Salt Lake County Boundaries Commission, and the Third Judicial District Nominating Commission. These opportunities gave him a chance to serve the community and, more importantly, to meet and talk with people in order to help resolve issues and problems.
In addition to serving on the Salt Lake County Council and maintaining his profession Marv is an Honorary Colonel with the Utah Highway Patrol and has been honored by West High School and Salt Lake Community College and received their Alumni of the Year Awards. He and his wife, Shirlene, have two children and one grandchild.
